001

WHY DO CROSSFIT?

Because it is simply the best value for money fitness there is!  CrossFitter's stand out from the crowd.  We are motivated to do the best we can and do not use excuses.  We want to enjoy life and live to the fullest and the easiest way to do that is to train hard, eat right and strive to do better than last time.

CAN ANYONE DO CROSSFIT?

Yes the programs that we use are universally scaled to the individual and your own fitness levels.  Our coaches closely supervise our participants and you will learn the movements correctly and safely.  Because we are training human movement (how you body is meant to move) your body will adapt quickly and you will notice a difference with such things as your posture, aerobic conditioning and lean muscle mass/lower body fat after only a short time.

012I'VE BEEN TO GYMS BEFORE HOW IS CROSSFIT DIFFERENT?

Because we know you by name and we don't look at $$$$ when you walk in the door.  You are part of a wonderful community of people who sweat it out together and encourage each other to do better.  We have fully qualified and experienced coaches motivating, educating and inspiring you.  Every workout is a new challenge and you will look forward to each session and not dread going to another boring gym.

I HAVE NEVER LIFTED WEIGHTS IS IT GOOD FOR ME?

Real strength training is imperative to any individual regardless of age and is a major component often neglected by other fitness professionals.  At our gym we will teach you simple functional lifting techniques that will make you a powerful and strong individual using major lifts like squats, dead lifts, and presses.  The idea of getting stronger is progression.  You may only start with a broom stick but we will always be looking for you to increase the amount you can lift safely and after a few sessions you will be wanting too as well, guaranteed.

018WHAT HAPPENS IN A TYPICAL TRAINING SESSION?

Sessions last for approx 60 mins.  These sessions include warm-up/ joint mobility - conditioning component and warm down /stretching /joint mobility.  After warm up the trainer will carefully take you through the workout of the day (WOD) breaking down each exercise.  This conditioning phase will go no longer than 20-30 mins and can be as short as 5-10 mins.  Intensity is the key here to maximise results.   These workouts are very time efficient as you will be encouraged to give your best effort always looking for improvement, that way you never go backwards and get results.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU TRAIN?

We are open 6 days a week and how we program the workouts you could come everyday.  Normally Crossfitters train 3 days on with one day off or 5 days on and 2 days off but this is totally up to the indivual and how much time they put into their recovery.   What we recommend for beginners is just make a habit of coming to training regularly.  Three days a week with plenty of  rest between sessions, for example;   Monday Wednesday and Friday.  As your fitness increases this may vary.  Some of our more experienced CrossFitters will train twice a day.

Fitness in 100 Words

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
